Full marketing infrastructure build

Truegreen developed smart label technology enabling cannabis brands to streamline inventory management and compliance tracking. As an early-stage B2B startup entering a highly regulated industry, they had a growing sales team, active trade show presence, and no marketing infrastructure to support any of it.

A Growing Sales Team With No CRM, No Nurture System, and No Way to Scale Beyond the Founder.

What the Client Came In With

Truegreen was at the inflection point most B2B startups reach when founder-led sales can no longer scale. The team was growing, industry events were generating contacts, and there was no system to capture, organize, or follow up with any of it. Leads were being lost not because the product lacked merit but because the infrastructure to manage them didn’t exist. Building a pipeline required building the foundation first.

What the Assessment Revealed

Two constraints shaped the entire strategy. The first was infrastructure — nothing existed and everything needed to be built. The second was the advertising environment. Google and Meta both impose severe restrictions on cannabis-related advertising, making them effectively unavailable for reaching a B2B cannabis audience at scale. LinkedIn was not a channel preference. For this client and this audience, it was the only viable paid channe

When Google and Meta Are Off the Table, Your LinkedIn Strategy Had Better Be Right.

What We Built

ActiveCampaign was implemented as the CRM and email marketing platform, selected for its automation capabilities and CRM functionality at a price point appropriate for an early-stage company. Workflows were configured to capture and nurture leads through the pipeline systematically. Sales cadence best practices were established so the growing team had a consistent process rather than individual approaches that couldn’t be replicated or managed.

Email nurture sequences educated prospects on Truegreen’s technology and built the case for their solution across the extended B2B buying cycle. Trade show appearances and speaking engagements were generating footage and credibility — we repurposed that content for LinkedIn lead generation ads and email campaigns, turning event investment into ongoing digital assets rather than one-time moments.

The LinkedIn strategy targeted cannabis brand executives, distributors, and retailers — the precise B2B audience that was inaccessible through other paid channels.

The Outcomes

The program generated over 1,600 qualified industry contacts, building a prospect database of executive-level cannabis industry professionals from a standing start. The sales team shifted from unstructured founder-led outreach to a defined pipeline with systematic follow-up. Truegreen established thought leadership positioning within the cannabis technology space through consistent LinkedIn presence and content built from their event activity.

Why It Worked

Building the infrastructure before running any campaigns meant every lead generated had somewhere to go and a process to follow it up. The channel constraint forced a disciplined focus on LinkedIn and email that produced a more qualified audience than broader advertising would have. Repurposing event content extended the value of trade show investment beyond the event itself, creating ongoing campaign assets from activity the client was already doing. The result was a marketing system built for the reality of the industry rather than against it.
